semi-hermetic reciprocating, single-stage compressors,
with 2, 4, 6, and 8 cylinders, to satisfy properly the
current market trends and demands. Sturdy, compact,
with proven high performance, and very low operating
costs when compared to products manufactured by
competitors, A perfect design produced with the best
technologies to cover the entire spectrum of applications
with HFC refrigerants and natural, low GWP refrigerants, to
significantly, reduce impact on the environment. All models
are supplied with advanced protection systems. Additional
diagnostic functions can be integrated in the protector to
provide a fully reliable system, a reduction of service costs,
and a very long operating life.
Extension of the compressors range
Frascold is able to offer a wide selection of compressors
that match the different requirements of commercial and
industrial applications. They are the perfect solution for
multiple applications in food and beverages production,
processing and preservation, for, supermarkets and
small stores, for building air conditioning, for mobile
refrigeration and A/C, for the several applications of
process cooling, for cryogenics applications, etc.
Application with frequency inverter
All the models are manufactured with “inverter
technology” and are suitable to operate with a frequency
inverters in a wide range of application;
• admissible frequencies for two cylinders compressors
vary from 30 Hz to 87 Hz, with ac capacity control
from 60% to 174% (compared with capacity at 50Hz)
• for compressors without oil pump with four
cylinders, allowed frequencies range goes from 25 Hz
to 87 Hz, with a capacity control from 50% to 174%
• for compressors with oil pump with four, six
and eight cylinders, allowed frequencies range
goes from 30 Hz to 70 Hz, with a capacity
control from 60% to 140%
Manufacturing concepts
Frascold semi-hermetic compressors are developed with
design criteria that permits to run with very limited power
absorption and that implements a mechanical architecture
that maximize compressor’s reliability.
Their main features are:
• design with CFD/FEM simulation and calculation
systems, able of predicting performances during
operation
• optimized bore/stroke ratio to boost thermal-dynamic
performance
• pistons with optimized geometry to ensure high
performance during operation and high volumetric
efficiency
• piston rings in high-resistance-alloy, extremely
resistant to high temperatures and corrosion
• bearings with PTFE surfaces that reduce frictions and
power losses and guarantee the best lubrication also
during start-up
• crankshaft heat-treated for surface hardening, sized
to fit the displacement and dynamically balanced, for a
smooth rotation and exceptionally comfortable
operation, silent and vibration-free
• Hi-Tech valve plates with sturdy structure that
guarantee steady efficiency over the whole compressor
lifetime. Valve plate reeds in heat-treated steel alloy,
with extremely precise surface planarity and finishing;
resistant to stress, temperature, and corrosion
• built-in lubrication system (splash disc or forced
lubrication) to provide the right oil amount on the
wearing surfaces of components and, in the same
time, cooling them
• internal valve between high and low pressure side,
pre-set, to open when the maximum differential
pressure is exceeded and release pressure on the
suction side
• efficient cooling system for the electric motor by
means of suction gas forced through passages with
wide exchange surfaces
• cylinders honing with automotive technology to guarantee
smooth running and optimal lubrication at start-up
